CAPA’s 2026 musical will be…

Auditions: May 18-19. Performance dates: July 16-18

Participation Eligibility

  • Students who have completed grades 6-12 during the 2026-2026 school year are eligible to audition for any role.
  • Current CAPA Choir girls in grades 4 and 5 may audition for the role(s) of Young Anna and Young Elsa. Only those cast in those roles will be included in the cast and will be required to pay tuition after auditions.
  • CAPA choir students must be up to date in all tuition payments prior to their audition for the summer musical.
  • All registered students are cast in the show.

Registration

  • Opens April 20.
  • You’ll find a link on the Musical page of the website to the REGISTRATION FORM on that date.
  • Filling out this form does not obligate you to join the cast but will keep you in the loop.
  • Please register early so we can send you needed items for the audition night.

Tuition and Other Expenses

  • Payment must be made prior to auditioning.
  • Tuition – Early discounted tuition is $325 if registered and paid by May 1. Family discount of 20% applies for three or more students in the cast. As of May 2nd, students will need to pay regular tuition of $350 prior to auditioning. Tuition includes the cast t-shirt and a portion of the costumes.
  • Each cast member is responsible for $100 minimum in program ads. A $100 hold check to CAPA will be collected at the audition. If students do not meet the ad minimum, this check will be used to cover their contribution. Families will have a $200 cap on their minimum requirement.
  • Cast members are responsible for parts of their own costumes and make-up costs.
  • Pay by Check or via Square (Convenience fees are added for this payment method.)
  • No comp tickets will be provided to cast families.

Auditions

  • Casting auditionswill be held Monday, May 18 from 5:00 – 9:00 pm (Location TBD)
  • Students seeking chorus roles may submit a recorded video audition due by noon on Monday, May 18 or perform live on May 18. All students interested in featured, supporting, or lead roles must perform their vocal audition live on May 18.See audition information sheet for details. (Available on information night, via email after registration, or available upon request.)
  • Callback auditions and will be held on Tuesday, May 19 from 6:30 – 9:30 pm.
  • Additional video audition materials may be requested for submission by Thursday, May 21.
  • Payment and registration are due prior to auditioning.
  • All students must agree to take any role that is offered. (No refunds will be given if a student drops out of the show).

Rehearsals

  • Rehearsals will be held at (Location TBD) beginning June 1 with the full read-through TBD. Principals may begin asked to attend early rehearsals for vocal work in late May.
  • Most rehearsals will be held Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 1pm – 6pm.
  • Most cast members are called for 1-2 times per week in early June. (Although they typically are not called for the entire length of the rehearsal).
  • Principal characters may be called 2-3 times per week during June, but not usually for the full length of the rehearsal.
  • Expect that the time commitment will increase in late June and into July for all cast members.
  • Once we switch to the performance location, rehearsal times shift to approximately 10am-4pm or 11am-5pm.
  • A tentative rehearsal schedule will be available (with adjustments to be made after auditions). Some conflicts can be accommodated, but students with excessive conflicts may have limitations in their casting.
  • We ask cast members to make the show a priority during the summer. No conflicts are allowed during the final two weeks. (July 8 to the end of the run.)

Crew Positions

  • Crew members will be chosen from those who apply. A link will be posted on the website Musical page by mid to late April. Students are eligible to apply beginning with the summerafter 9th grade. Minimum age: 14
  • Crew members should have some connection with CAPA (current student, former student, family members) OR have previous training or experience in their volunteer area.
  • Adults with theater experience should contact the director as soon as possible if they wish to offer their skills to our production.

Orchestra Positions

  • Our live orchestra is made up of volunteers. Many of our members return year after year. Contact the director to be added to an orchestra contact list.

Performances

  • (Wednesday, July 15 – 2:00 pm – Special Open Dress Rehearsal for Senior Citizens)
  • Thursday, July 16 – 7:00 pm
  • Friday, July 17 – 7:00 pm
  • Saturday, July 18 – 2:00 pm
  • Location – Brentwood Christian School Theatre – 11908 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78753

Tickets

  • Reserved seating tickets are sold online and at the door. Online sales links will be posted here in June.
  • All seats: $18 (3 YO free if seated on lap).
  • Golden Tickets that can be exchanged for tickets will ONLY be sold at the CAPA Spring concert on May 12 for $15. Initial limit 5 per family will be extended if supplies last. Limited quantity available.
