Angel Choir (Ages 4 to 8)

Students learn through pitch exploration activities, movement songs, and singing games. Students learn age-appropriate music theory and concert music. Concerts are given for both large and small audiences. Each spring they sing in the rotunda of the Texas State Capitol. Each class section meets once per week. All sections combine to make the full choir. More…

Children’s Choir (Ages 8 to 11)
Upper Elementary

Students will sing music ranging from classical to contemporary in both sacred and secular genres including some foreign languages and occasional riser choreography. They will learn music theory, sight reading, and proper vocal skills while making time for fun songs and musical games. This choir performs with the other CAPA choirs in our final concert at the end of each semester. They also perform a community service concert each semester and sing at the Texas State Capitol most years in the spring. Each class section meets once per week. Treble Choir (Grades 6 to 8)
Middle School

Treble Choir will concentrate on 3-part literature ranging from renaissance to contemporary and everything in between! Emphasis will be placed on proper vocal technique, sight-singing, and music theory. Students will perform competitively, non-competitively, and in service to others including the final concert and the rotunda concert at the Texas State Capitol. Men’s Choir (Grades 6 to 8)
Middle School

Pre-teen men have the unique opportunity to participate in a choir that is tailored to the male changing voice. As we encourage men to continue singing through this time, singers will learn to negotiate their vocal changes through vocal exercises and appropriate literature. Emphasis will be placed on proper vocal technique, sight-singing, and music theory. Ages 14 to 18 High School

Concert Choir concentrates on a more advanced musical repertoire. Students study music theory, sight-singing, and proper vocal technique. Students will experience competitive, non-competitive, and service-oriented performances including the final concert and the rotunda concert at the Texas State Capitol. Master’s Singers
Advanced – By Audition

Advanced Concert Choir students have the opportunity to audition for The Master’s Singers ensemble. Auditions are held yearly in early May for the following school year. This group is the primary public relations group for CAPA and is available for gigs from late fall through early summer. Contact the director to make arrangements for special performances.
